Biography

Jim Dick's professional career spans over three decades of plein-air oil painting. A native Montanan, this artist's tasteful realistic compositions present familiar panoramic rock mountian vistas, including Big Sky's Lone Mountain, dramatic Gallatin Canyon, and Gallatin Valley scenes. Jim's use of vivid color, value, and light brings life and depth to the canvas. His work is collected across the nation by those who love the unique natural beauty of Montana and American fine art.

As well as originall oil paintings, Jim has published some popular limited editions of signed and numbered lithographs and giclee' canvas prints. These include Lost Cabin Lake Summer, Palisade Falls, Bear Trap Canyon, Soldiers Chapel and Bridger Mountain, all fine Lithographs. Giclee' prints feature Lone Mountain in Winter Afternoon, the Gallatin River in Gallatin Summer, Lower Falls of the Yellowstone, and a most recent damatic fall scene of Gallatin River, West Gallatin Autumn.
